How to Boost Your Metabolic Rate
How many people do you think would pay great amounts of money to learn how they can raise their metabolic rate? Plenty, I am sure because they know this means they will get rid of the stores of fat and lose weight in the process. Raising your metabolism is the way to make your body burn calories and give you the energy you need to get through the day. The equivalent is something like a car needing fuel. The higher octane fuel you put in it the better and more efficiently it runs. Everybody’s metabolic rate is different and will depend upon their own set of circumstances. The foods they eat, the exercise they do, what type of metabolism your relatives had and the ratio of muscle to fat in your body.
If you want to know how to raise your metabolic rate and get rid of those excess calories here are a few pointers that you can use.
Eat your breakfast. How many times has your mother told you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Well, it really is! This meal sets the pace for the rest of the day. It starts your metabolism to burning calories and you can keep it going the rest of the day if you eat small meals and do not skip any. Skipping meals makes the metabolic rate go down and therefore it is not burning calories or stored fat. Have you noticed how many people that eat breakfast are thinner than those who wait for lunch and eat a big meal?
Build your muscle. The more muscle that we have the better for blasting fat. Building muscle is not that hard. Walk instead of drive. Take your dog out for walks, lift a few weights (strength training), park further from the entrance to wherever you are going and leave the elevator where it is - take the stairs.
More muscle is built if you use strength training and increase your difficulty level no matter what type of exercise you are doing. If it is lifting weights, add a few pounds and build up to more and more. Aerobics are another great exercise for those who want to build muscle. Just make sure you do not push yourself too hard when starting. Take breaks in between exercise sets.
Watch what you eat. The different types of foods that you consume will cause your body to store fat. Foods that contain a high amount of sugar will cause your blood sugar to rise which in turn spikes your insulin. This slows down metabolism so the sugar that you just ate goes into the fat storage area. One of the foods that will boost your metabolism is hot peppers and spicy foods. It requires a lot of energy to digest these foods so they get your metabolism up and running.
Eat more fruits and vegetables. Another great food for boosting metabolism is fruits and vegetables. These are natural metabolism boosters and if you eat a few small meals during the day instead of huge meals when you sit down for the evening, your body will burn the calories. Water is a huge consideration. Not only does it clean the body but it keeps it hydrated which reduces stress. Fruits are much better for you to snack on than the salty, sugary type that you are used to eating.
Get enough sleep. Sleep is another key - The sleep you get helps your muscles to rebuild from the exercise you have done. If they do not rebuild, they cannot work to increase metabolism. The person who does not get enough sleep might actually gain weight rather than lose it. Loss of sleep also puts stress on the body which produces Cortisol to deal with the stress. This element slows metabolism which is the last thing you want to do. Get enough sleep so you can be in a good mood.
By following the pointers we have mentioned you will begin to see a difference when it comes to losing weight. Keeping your metabolic rate up will help with this more than you realize. So learn the tricks to raising your metabolism and you will be glad you did and a much happier person.
